Abstract

TG Soft's Technological Atelier will illustrate the attack on Samsung Italy, but it affected also simultaneously in similar ways, Samsung Service centers in Russia.
This is a spear-phishing attack towards Samsung Italy Service Centers with emails artfully modified to be absolutely credible and having the Samsung parent company as the final target. It will be explained how the attack evolved over the months, which, as such, appears likely to have been carried out by qualified and structured actors. They were trying to penetrate, through Samsung Service Centers, the parent company's centralized platform to steal its secrets.
Through TG Soft's Threat Intelligence, it was possible to reconstruct the evolution of the attack that began in January 2017.
