The main topics in the divulgative/educational workshop

The workshop is of
divulgative/educational nature and aims to inform the public about circulating cyber threats, like malspam, ransomware, mining and phishing (but not only) and means of protection against them.

We will especially illustrate the cyber-crime activities aimed to obtaining direct or indirect gains, such as:

> malspam attacks who would try to steal your login and password of website like home banking...We will see some of these cyber threats such as AdWind, UrSnif, Zeus/Panda, GootKit etc.;
>  production and diffusion of malware who use the hit PC / Server to try to "mine" BitCoin;
>  It will be made an overview of the main groups / types of Crypto-Malware that between 2017 and the first half-year of 2018 have spread most in Italy, included the most known::
  • WannaCry (2017-05);
  • NotPetya / EternalPetya (2017-06);
  • GandCrab 1.0, 2.0 e 3.0 (2018).

 We will present, as defenses against cyber threats, anti-ransomware technologies that blocks file encryption in its initial phase.

PHISHING is not a new phenomenon but in 2018 has seen a progressive increase with targeted and effective campaigns that try to induce unaware recipients  to provide his personal data with various tricks:
•    getting shopping coupons immediately available (AMAZON; EXPERT; LIDL etc. etc.);
•    getting unexpected refunds (INAIL, Agenzia delle Entrate, ENEL etc. etc.)
•    threatening the block of your bank or post account or your credit card through fake e-mails of the most well-known banking group like Poste, PostePay, Intesa Sanpaolo, etc etc.

Speaker at the workshop will be
